These pants are made of a super soft material that is slightly stretchy (poly/spandex blend). They run pretty roomy and I sized down! I am wearing an XS in the photos and my waist size is 24 inches, and hip is 40 inches. If you want the waistband to fit less snug- go with your regular size :). Technically these are advertised as women's pants by my manufacturer, but I don't see why they couldn't be unisex/men's. For mens sizing id go up a size.
